    The warmest people imaginable
Arriving to the island can be a bit of a let down at first because of the harbour, which honestly could look a bit better, but fear not, this place has a lot to offer!
The staff working at Koimala are the absolute best! They go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable, interesting and exciting and truly provide a service that is better than at any 5 star resort. Rifath, Nawaaz and Ripon are all amazing and you couldn’t wish for a better treatment. At Koimala, we opted for mostly local food (yellow curry ftw) and loved it and Ripon spoiled us with freshly made fruit juices. The island itself is a local island in development and at the first sight not what you’d expect from Maldives, but it provides a great staring point for daily excursions which the guys from Koimala are happy to organize for you. Picnic island is located a 10 minute boat ride away has the most beautiful secluded beach with a reef that you can spend hours exploring, Whale shark point, the best place to see the whale sharks in Maldives is basically on the Mammigili island reef and on those days that you’d like a bit of pampering in a resort, you can go to the nearby Holiday Island resort - literally a one minute boat ride or a bit of a swim, or a bit furher, Sun Island resort (a bit more expensive to get there, as you have to take the speedboat). Entry into resorts is 25 dollars during the day and free after 6 pm. We also visited Manta point about an hour away with a boat and it was the most amazing experience - we swam with these beautiful creatures with 4 meters wingspan. The beach on the Maamigili island itself is pretty nice as well, but with so many things to do, I warmly recommend you spend your days exploring. All in all, this place might be a bit better suited for those who like genuine contact with the country and culture they are visiting, not just another beach vacation in a resort.

    Great trip in Maldives
The downsize of this island is only that the beach area is not very big and if the sea is rough it brings quite a lot of debree ashore. But even like that we were pleased that we had the beach 99% of the time only for us.
First of all the room was clean and the staff was kind and did all the possible for us to have an awesome vacation, even during the days with bad weather. Riffath is a great host and means the most for the overall experience. Even tho we were visiting during the ramadan they managed to serve us with good and fresh food at any hour we needed. Also they have a lot of activities available that can be done on the island or on nearby islands after a short boat trip. For example we did scuba diving, snorkeling and a lot of sunbathing. The interesting part of tge trip was that the island is not one reserved exclusively for tourist, and like this you have the ocasion to see how people of Maldives live, people that are very welcoming and kind. All in all on the island you won't have the facilities of a resort island, but for sure you will have an amasing adventure at an affordable price.

A memorable stay at koimala Inn
They should add more varieties to their food menu. Although the food was very nice. The quantity of food is also enough and they always serve on time.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. 10/10 for their hospitality, Riffat is very helpful. He helped us arranging all the activities and arranged transfer options for us. Rippon is also a great help over there. We thank Riffat and Rippon for making our stay a memorable one.

Fantastic for whale shark snorkeling & diving!!
Koimala Inn is a clean and inexpensive guesthouse located on Maamigili, a local island. The island is a very famous spot for whale shark and manta diving or snorkeling, which was the icing on the cake for us. From the bikini beach you can go snorkeling too and we were amazed to see so many colorful fish as well as turtles. On the other hand, it is not a good island for having only beach holidays due to the narrow beaches and the trash that gets washed up. However, they do provide an alternative option for those who seek beautiful beaches, the picnic trips to Ariadhoo island was amazing...!! The beach was beautiful. The staff of the hotel is very friendly and helpful. Overall great stay and reasonable pricing of meals and activities.

Amazing trip with best price of activties and diving
I read almost all reviews before booking Koimala. After reading the reviews thought of reserving one night and extend if the choice is good. From Airport to the arrival to guesthouse everything was perfectly arranged. The accommodation and facilities were amazing, with reference to the negative reviews about wrong information I totally disagree because all I experienced was more than what I paid for. What a great place to stay if you want the real Maldivian experience! Staff are super friendly and the food was wonderful! This local run guest house is a quiet retreat away from the overpriced resorts. I highly recommend all guest to communicate well to avoid any disappointments, I think that was the most reason why some guest have written negative reviews. However, overall the diving in Maamigili is the best in the Maldives! You will see amazing coral reefs with vibrant beautiful colors. So many fish! you can snorkel with whale sharks and manta rays without any hassle or crowd. The dive staffs were very friendly helpful with so much local knowledge and experience each dive got better and better!
